The second inlet allows a skimmer to be used to draw water from the pond surface, while the wildlife protection system prevents small fish, frogs and newts from being drawn into the pump. The Wildlife Protection System reduces the risk of damage to common pond wildlife. For extra protection of species such as newts we recommend using an additional cage, available as a spare part.
